Dutch pianist Vera Kooper has been described as a "sensitive and expressive performer, with impressive instrumental control and all-out dedication, capable of transforming each performance into a poetic, moving artistic experience" (Emanuel Krasovsky, 2010).
Vera started playing the piano at the age of six and joined the young talent class of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (the Netherlands) at the age of thirteen, where she studied with Russian piano pedagogue Kamilla Bystrova. She continued her education in the class of David Kuyken and graduated with honors in 2011. She moved to Austria to continue her studies with the American pedagogue George Kern at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she received her Soloist Diploma in 2015. Additionally she studied with Konstantin Bogino in the ‘Corso di Alto Perfezionamento’ at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Bergamo (Italy) and received coaching and musical advice from the legendary American pianist Stephen Kovacevich in London, who described her as “an unusually gifted and interesting artist.”
At the age of sixteen Vera Kooper won the second prize at the International Steinway Competition in Amsterdam. In 2007 and 2008 she was awarded top prizes at the Prinses Christina Concours in the Netherlands, as a soloist and as a duo with violinist Emmy Storms. This resulted in many concert engagements in the Netherlands and abroad, performing at the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Peter de Grote Festival, Musica Mundi Chamber Music Festival, Festival Musica Russa and the Aurora Chamber Music Festival and touring the Netherlands and Germany with orchestras such as Sinfonia Rotterdam and the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands.
During her studies in Salzburg, Vera founded the Delta Piano Trio together with two Dutch musicians; violinist Gerard Spronk and cellist Irene Enzlin. Originally intended as a one-time project, their venture rapidly evolved and became an intensive and successful collaboration. The trio studied in Salzburg, Paris and Basel with Wolfgang Redik (Vienna Piano Trio), Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Trio Wanderer and Anton Kernjak and has won numerous awards and prizes, including 1st prizes at the Stasys Vainiunas International Chamber Music Competition in Lithuania (2014), the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition in Italy (2014), the Orlando International Chamber Music Competition in The Netherlands (2015) and the Orpheus Chamber Music Competition in Switzerland (2017). With about 50 concerts each season they have performed extensively in Europe, Russia, Cuba, Israel, China, Korea, Indonesia and the United States in venues such as the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), the National Center of Performing Arts (Beijing), the Gang Dong Art Center (Seoul), St. Johns Smith Square (London) and the Jerusalem Music Center. They appeared in festivals such as the New York Chamber Music Festival, the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, Musikdorf Ernen, and the Salzburger Kammermusik Festival.
In 2017 they released their debut CD for Naxos Records, with works by Taneyev and Borodin. Their second CD, "The Mirror with Three Faces' with works by Lera Auerbach and Dmitri Shostakovich, produced by Odradek Records, was released in 2018 to great international acclaim.
Highlights of the upcoming seasons include a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Basel Chamber Orchestra, a residency at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, a collaboration with violist Nobuko Imai and other performances in Europe and China. In 2020 Vera released her first solo CD, dedicated to Beethoven and embarked on an extensive tour with presenter Floris Kortie through the Netherlands with 50 performances of “Het jaar 250 na Beethoven” (the year 250 after Beethoven), a theater production about the life and piano sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven.

De Nederlandse pianiste Vera Kooper wordt beschreven als een sensitief en expressief musicus, met een indrukwekkende techniek en gepassioneerde toewijding. Vera begon op zesjarige leeftijd met pianospelen en werd op dertienjarige leeftijd toegelaten tot de jong talentklas van het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, waar ze studeerde bij de Russische pianopedagoog Kamilla Bystrova. Ze vervolgde haar opleiding bij David Kuyken en studeerde cum laude af in 2011. Ze verhuisde vervolgens naar Oostenrijk om bij George Kern te studeren aan de Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg (Oostenrijk), waar ze in 2015 haar solistendiploma ontving. Daarnaast werkte ze met Konstantin Bogino in de 'Corso di Alto Perfezionamento 'aan de Accademia Santa Cecilia in Bergamo (Italië) en ontving coaching en muzikaal advies van de legendarische Amerikaanse pianist Stephen Kovacevich in Londen, die haar beschrijft als 'een buitengewoon begaafd en interessant kunstenaar '.

Deze successen resulteerden in uitnodigingen in binnen- en buitenland, optredens in het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), de Doelen (Rotterdam), de Oosterpoort (Groningen), het Muziekcentrum Vredenburg (Utrecht), het Muziekgebouw Eindhoven en festivals zoals het Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, het Peter de Grote Festival, Musica Mundi Chamber Music Festival, Festival Musica Russa en het Aurora Chamber Music Festival en tournees door Nederland en Duitsland met orkesten zoals Sinfonia Rotterdam en het Nationaal Jeugdorkest.
In 2013 was Vera medeoprichter van het Delta Piano Trio, met violist Gerard Spronk en celliste Irene Enzlin. Oorspronkelijk bedoeld als een eenmalig project, evolueerde hun onderneming snel en werd een intensieve en succesvolle samenwerking. Het trio studeerde in Salzburg, Parijs en Bazel bij Wolfgang Redik (Wiener Klaviertrio), Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Trio Wanderer en Anton Kernjak en won talloze prijzen, waaronder 1e prijzen op de Stasys Vainiunas International Chamber Music Competition in Litouwen (2014), het Salieri-Zinetti Internationale Kamermuziekconcours in Italië (2014), het Orlando Kamermuziekconcours in Nederland (2015) en het Orpheus concours in Zwitserland (2017). Met ongeveer 50 concerten per seizoen hebben ze uitvoerig opgetreden in Europa, Rusland, Israël, China, Korea, Indonesië en de Verenigde Staten op locaties zoals het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), het National Center of Performing Arts (Beijing), de Gang Dong Art Centre (Seoul), St. Johns Smith Square (Londen) en het Jerusalem Music Centre. Ze verschenen op festivals zoals het New York Chamber Music Festival, het Swiss Chamber Music Festival, Musikdorf Ernen en het Salzburger Kammermusik Festival.
In 2017 brachten ze voor Naxos Records hun debuut-CD uit met werken van Sergei Taneyev en Alexander Borodin. Hun tweede CD, “The Mirror with Three Faces”, met werken van Lera Auerbach en Dmitri Shostakovich, geproduceerd door Odradek Records, werd uitgebracht in 2018 en ontving grote internationale bijval.
Hoogtepunten van de komende seizoenen zijn een uitvoering van Beethoven's Triple Concerto met het Basel Chamber Orchestra, een residentie op het West Cork Chamber Music Festival, de première van een nieuw pianotrio van Lera Auerbach, een samenwerking met violist Nobuko Imai en andere concerten in Europa en China. In 2020 bracht Vera haar eerste solo-CD, "HOPE", uit en momenteel maakt ze een uitgebreide tournee met presentator Floris Kortie en "Het jaar 250 na Beethoven”, een theaterproductie over het leven en de pianosonates van Ludwig van Beethoven.
