Named 'Young Musical Talent of the year' in 2005, Dutch cellist Irene Enzlin has already enjoyed an impressive career, appearing as a soloist with a.o. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pro Arte Orchestra (Taiwan) and the "Netherlands Symphony Orchestra", performing in festivals such as "Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims" (France) and the "Menuhin Festival" in Gstaad (Switzerland).

 

At the age of fifteen, Irene was admitted to the world-reknowned "Yehudi Menuhin School" in England, a music specialist school founded by violinist Yehudi Menuhin, where she studied with Pierre Doumenge and Charles Watt. In 2011 she moved to Salzburg, Austria, to continue her studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Clemens Hagen (Hagen Quartet), where she graduated with distinction in the summer of 2015. The autumn after she started her master studies at the 'Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris' in the class of Raphael Pidoux, which she finished with 'très bien à l'unanimité'.

 

Irene was prizewinner of various competitions, a.o. the "Nationaal Cello Competition", the "Prinses Christina Concours", the ''Herman Krebbers Violin and Cello Councours'' and the ''Haydn Festival'', and finalist of the "Mainardi Competition" in Salzburg (Austria) and the "Janigro Competition for young cellists" in Porec (Croatia).

 

Irene plays on a modern Thomas Bertrand cello (2006), lend to her by the Dutch National Music Instrument Foundation, andis being lend a Hans Karl Schmidt bow by Henk te Hietbrink.

Irene Enzlin, benoemd tot “Jong Muziektalent van het Jaar” in 2005, kan al terugblikken op een indrukwekkende carrière. Ze trad op als soliste met o.a. “The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra”, het “Pro Arte Orchestra” (Taiwan)  en het “Nederlands Symfonie Orkest” en speelde op festivals als "Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims" (Frankrijk) en het "Menuhin Festival" in Gstaad (Zwitserland).

 

Op vijftien-jarige leeftijd werd Irene toegelaten tot de legendarische “Yehudi Menuhin School” in Engeland, een gerenommeerd muziek instituut opgericht door violist Yehudi Menuhin, waar ze bij Pierre Doumenge en Charles Watt studeerde. In 2011 verhuisde Irene naar Salzburg, om aan de “Universität Mozarteum” Clemens Hagen (Hagen Kwartet) te studeren, een studie die ze in de zomer van 2015 met onderscheiding afsloot. Daarna studeerde ze in Frankrijk aan het 'Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris' bij Raphael Pidoux voor haar Master, die ze met 'très bien à l'unanimité' afsloot. 

 

Irene is laureate van verschillende concoursen, zoals het "Nationaal Cello Concours", het “Prinses Christina Concours”, het “Herman Krebbers Viool en Cello Concours” en het “Haydn Festival”, en was finaliste bij het “Mainardi Concours”, in Salzburg (Oostenrijk) en het “Janigro concours voor jonge cellisten” in Porec (Kroatië).

 

Het “Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds” heeft haar een Bertrand cello (2006) ter beschikking gesteld. Ze heeft een Hans Karl Schmidt stok in bruikleen van Henk te Hietbrink.
